Not the same for the M70. I have 7” from center screw. Mine also has a longer barrel at the top.

...The plastic shrinks and splits under its own tension. I've been fortunate enough to not have this happen yet, but this will eventually be in all M70's future...
This is probably a bad thing, am I right?
Unfortunately, I don’t have spare parts. Is this a job for epoxy, or would that be too much for such a sensitive part?

Looking for one antenna for my M70. Direct replacements/swaps from other boxes work as well. Sources outside BB are welcome.

Place it on a soft towel or soft surface when you work on it to avoid scratches to your beautiful M70.
Make sure to take pictures as you dismantle, and this will guide you to put it all back together correctly.

New to the forum. Not a collector. I am the original owner of this awesome box. Bought it new in ‘80 or ‘81. Don’t remember.
My goal is to get it reconditioned. Needs a tuneup. Everything works, but audio is staticky. Switches/knobs sluggish. Belts need changing. Need antenna. Cleaning, etc...
Many will say that the RC-M90 is the best JVC boombox, but if you can find a nice RC-M70, you will not regret it at all. The M70, in my opinion, is easier to work on than the M90. Also, the JVC RC-838 is a nice boombox.
