Sometimes it's the seller's fault but a lot of times it's the shipper's.
Earlier today I was watching, what I assume was a USPS trainee, frisbeeing Amazon envelopes onto several porches (it's windy as hell here today).
They were blowing every which way, one even blew back down to her feet so she just picked it back up and flung it again.
When she got back to the postal vehicle, the supervisor was explaining how to place them, I could tell that she didn't want to hear it at all.
She was actually talking back to the supervisor loud enough that I could hear it through the closed window.
The work ethic in this country is going down hill pretty quickly.
Everyone wants a paycheck but doesn't want to do the work to earn it.

This is exactly why I will not ship vintage boomboxes anymore. No matter how well packaged, some lunk head is going to throw it or slam something down on top of it. I package my boxes very well and have had a great track record but the last radio I sold was a beautiful gf 1000. Arrived with the back casing broken pretty badly. I fought tooth and nail to get the insurance from the shipper. End result buyer was refunded and got a free broken gf1000. Hopefully it ended up getting fixed. Some of these old boxes are too fragile and brittle to make it any distance with out risk of damage.

Sadly, I think the days of being able to ship radio's is over. I shipped a radio last year, the shipper (UPS) obviously abused the package and crushed it, even though I wrote FRAGILE all over it in huge letters. None of the carriers give a care any more (not that they ever really did before). But people in general don't give a sh*t about their jobs. I don't think I'll be shipping radio's any more. Just another sign of the times

Last wednesday i got the same sh*t. I was at work when a box was delivered. So i did not see the piece of crap.
It contained a processor , that means a strong 19 inch metal housing. When i opened my mails i saw that the box was going back to the sender because of damage
I GD ask myself who took the decision to return it. Last time i order something online . Sick an tired of this GD s**t

Hi, sorry to hear about shipping damage. I've purchased (8) boomboxs, an integrated amp and minimus 7 speakers, all through EBAY. Shippers took precautions and all arrived undamaged.

I agree Chris.
My hands start getting sweaty the moment I submit the package to the courier/ Mail office. I feel the dread of having the buyer immediately contact me with a host of pictures of a boombox (or anything remotely fragile) smashed as if the Hulk delivered the goods.

I've sworn off shipping anything these days, pick-up only.

For me , online shopping will be less .I know it's easy when all goes well but i see shipping getting much worse.
People have no respect for other peoples property...........
