Hi everyone,
I’m currently restoring a GE 3-5259A Boombox and I’m looking for a replacement leaf contact switch used for the PLAY function in the cassette mechanism.
The original spring/leaf contact (two copper contact plates) is broken.
It looks like at some point a cassette may have been forced out, which snapped the contact.
This is not a slide switch or microswitch, but a mechanical leaf contact that closes electrically when the mechanism moves into PLAY.
My questions:
Any help, part numbers, donor models, or repair ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Michael

My questions:
- Does anyone have a spare original part from a donor deck?
- Are there any compatible leaf contact switches from other boomboxes or cassette mechanisms that would fit?
- Or does anyone know a modern equivalent that can be adapted?
Any help, part numbers, donor models, or repair ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
