Cassette Motor Speed Adjustment

Hello, All. I was wondering if this hole on the back of the National RX-5700 is a convenient way of adjusting the cassette motor speed from the back of the unit without opening up the cabinet?

It is the hole on the motor next to the red mark I put there. Caution pointed out that before.
