GE Blockbuster Red VU Meters Swap

Wow nice job, I tried so many times at swapping some Chinese made meters into the original plate with mega failure attempts. I was happy to find working original meters from a parts box I have and was so happy to see the meters jumping away. I remember trying to paint the red meters white only to find out that it made them too heavy! Right now I have two fully working Blockbusters and a parts box and a fully working beautiful Realistic SCR-8. I can fix that broken cassette head issue in my sleep (provided I have the 3D printed part from Caution). I learned a lot along the way and never gave up and now I probably won’t open up my boxes anytime soon. Enjoy your boxes my friends!

Thank you @BoxBeats . I saw where there was someone on another forum that had a working Blockbuster VU meter that they wanted to make a project out of and, you beat me to asking them if they wanted to sell..lol.

I have one good VU meter coil on standby. My hope is that I will find another meter with one broken meter. If I do, I will swap my good one into it and make an original that I will swap into my Blockbuster.

But patience is a virtue so these aftermarket coils will satisfy me if / when the opportunity presents itself :-)

I really enjoy my little Blockbuster. They captured what was needed to scratch the itch of what is a decent boombox without needing to rattle the windows but still sound and look good.
