Thanks for the info fyj2972. I checked out the manual on the figs you referred me to. I haven't taken the MD-1 assembly apart yet as I've never done it before on any other radio, so as a 1st timer I'm a little reluctant due to my inexperience. I made sure the microswitch (SW18?) functions as should but when I traced the wire from the MD-1 motor to the back of the main board I measured for voltage and got about 200millivolts. I just need to know what switch I have to engage so I can get voltage to the MD-1 motor. I will get to the bottom of this issue for sure. :chris920:

Ok guys, took the MD-1 mechanism out to see the position of the mini switch and wanted to get your opinion on it. Thanks to all who've helped me out so far.20200823_133154.jpg20200823_133202.jpg

Guys, by any chance do you know how I can get the motor to turn on? What switch(es) do I have to actuate to get the MD-1 motor to turn? Thank you.

S-16 provides power to the motor, S-17 Is for auto stop. So if S-17 is engaged no power will go to the motor. Page 12 of the service manual shows the location of the switch.

Lets read the schematic again. There are two motors in this machine (M1, main motor and M2 loading motor)
SW18 is 12V power supply control to M2.m2 loading.jpg

If you dont have any voltage readings at SW18 (200MV ?) I will check that R302 fusible resistor is open or not. Most likly you have a burnt protect resistor in this case.

Hi, I'm new here, and I have exactly the same problem with my Aiwa TPR-990: the M2 motor does not receive power to run the soft touch system (the motor is in good condition). Could you solve it?
Tubejunkie could you solve it?
