Does anyone know the belt Size's for the PC 55 ?, I would appreciate any help and if you have just one large flat belt to spare that would help out a lot. Thank you.

Belt chart only says PC-55 Belt FRM 9.2, didn't give any other belt measurements. So the flat belt should be a 9.2" circumference medium belt. Some mediums width comes in more width, if we buy from studio electronics and might have to stay with small instead. I bought medium for M70 and they slipped off the motor pulley in micro seconds when the motor was turned on. I believe we have to use 9.2" small flat belt. Our experts here can confirm.

Thanks Royce, looking at the belt it is very wide, it has a fairly large pully too so I think wider is better. I still have yet to finish taking out 3000 screws to get to the belts I might just snip the belt off and at least get the size. Thanks brother. I really appreciate it.

Once you compare with the old belt we will have a good understanding on the correct belt size. Width of the old belt also would be of help. My pleasure! Anytime bro!

Thank you!. I'm waist deep in PC 55 parts . I tell you anybody at the factory who put these together must a been ****ing geniuses or had an enormous amount of patients. It would have been an episode like I Love Lucy where she tried to wrap the candy on the assembly line if I was trying to do these things.

PC55 really pissed off bro Floyd!

Next time I would recommend you working on a Sanyo M9998.

Working on Sony FH-7, 11, or 5 is also very relaxing.

I agree those units you mentioned would make a saint want to toss them in the river when repairs are needed. I sold my mx 920 because I didn't want to work on the deck. I parted out my fh7 because of the deck. Aside from boomboxery members nobody I know even owns a cassette lol.

Reading about how difficult it seems to be to fix or work in the PC-R55’s + the fact that I am not much of a tech, I’m glad I did what I did!! Bought a fully working, excellent conditions PC-R55, and bought a second one in as good conditions as the first one + a spare fully working tape recorder modual. So, for me, no parts changing, only moduals!!
