Hey Royce,

I see another date stamp on your 5350. Do you have a close up of it? :hmmm:

Go!

=ml=
Miles, Let me look bro! I randomly took so many pictures of it when I was doing an extensive cleaning and lube.

Just got finished ordering the Nichicon Muse premium line (audio grade) caps. Total for it all with shipping was just under $40.

The distinct squiggly line drawn on my cap inventory count sheet was showing the numbers to the left of the squiggly line for the main board only. Then everything to the right or outside the squiggly line was the inventory for the tuner board and couple of other misc. spots with caps.
Wow, thats really cheap! I can't wait to see where this goes

:agree: I've spend $40 for two power stage capacitors alone on my Marantz reciever ...they were BIG guys little over the size of D cell batteries. ...and total cap replacement was ~$90 for my SABA 14 tube auto tuning radio.

Thanks Royce, that's a bit better: :yes:

It looks to me like (L-R):

* 4 (1-12) month
* 2 (0-9; 1980-1989) year
* 2 (0-3) first day digit
* 0 (0-9) second day digit
* 1 (1-3) work shift

so, April 20, 1982.

Unless you have a closer picture, that's the date and I'm sticking to it. :-D

Go!

Hi Miles, Actually I made the previous picture larger to get this one. I was lazy to bring it out and open it to take pics. I will do that later. :-D :-D

I agree! Night time after the wife and kids are put to sleep is when I do my best work! Being distracted while replacing caps could be a huge problem!

New caps look beautiful!

^ thanks man! I sharpened up my solder iron tip and replaced 4 caps while I was hanging out with my 2yr old last night.

One problem. How can I get this huge circuit board held steady while I am doing my soldering? I will need to be able to flip/rotate the board for every cap, suggestions?

No way would I get the wife involved on a 130+ re-cap job to help flip the board manually, I can do that myself with much less of a headache :lol:. I need to have it stand up on one of it's long ends.
