Hi,I just finally fixed or should I say bypassed the main power plug to the tuner board.
It was loose from when I bought it 2 years ago and I finally had enough of it being intermittent and cutting out as the solder joints loosened up!
So today I try soldering those 7 little pins back to the circuit board,well this sucked big time as the solder just wasn't sticking to the board at all!
So I said screw it,I took each wire and figured exactly where it went on the board and soldered the wires right to the board..
Well after I got them all into place I taped them down with dome electrical tape so they would stay in place.
After all this-success!!!
But now I believe I adjusted the dial and tuner from the wrong end,I tuned it all the way down below 88 all to the left and adjusted the tuner on the board all the way down also.
Well it's about 1-1.3mhz off to the right-101.3 is like 100.0/ 100.3.
I'm thinking I should have brought the tuner disl all the way right to 108.0 and adjusted the tuner on the board all the way right to match.
Something tells me this is how it is adjusted and not from far left.
Now I'm scared to pull off the tuner board for adjustment for fear of a wire getting jarred or loosening up!:0
Can I adjust the disl slightly to match by not having to take this off again??!
This is the U 4 band model and it really cranks!!
Just am frustrated as I'm usually very careful about lining these up but I think I adjusted it from the wrong end!
Any suggestions? I know Skippy(Scott) has worked on these alot.
I would like to adjust this but for now I'm leaving it alone.
I'm thinking maybe now I might have power to my cassette motor,haven't checked this yet but there is power when you hit play or gg or rewind.
Just no power to the actual cassette motor but I haven't checked it since I fixed the plug.
