i just had a message from a friend that he wants to bring a Vz2000 for me to fiddle with, he said the cassette works but it won't record, he says he presses record, the record lights up and the vu metre flashes as well like it's recording, but there's nothing when he plays it back, i remember owning one years ago that didn't record, i think i remember recording on to a blank cassette, when i Played it back i could hear music but very faint and broken up/distorted, so i assumed there was very low voltage, maybe a transistor that had given up or something. i never even explored the problem, so just wondering if any of you guys had a Vz that wouldn't record ? i think most people know more about these things than me.
