I have so far replaced D807 and have now got 15 volts to the Alpd circut. Now I have the track selector switches working.

I used a Motorola 1N962B 11V 400mW silicon Zener Diode DO-35 package for D-807. After replacing that the Alpd counter started to work and it would count down the tracks. I never tracked down why the solenoid was not activated to stop the search. Someday I'll dig deeper and figure it out all the way.

I'm pretty sure something got shorted out on the grounded shield on the back cover. The sheild was a bit warped from possibly getting wet before I got the machine.
