Well after many years Mr.Big are back in a big way. Their new album "Defying Gravity" just came out. It starts out with three pretty hard rockers 1)OPEN YOUR EYES 2)Defying Gravity 3)everybody needs a little trouble. These are hard rockin in your face rock songs as only Mr.Big can deliver,very reminiscent of the first two albums. Number 4)Damn I'm in Love again is a good time acoustic toe tapping number. Its a nice song to help catch your breath after ROCKIN' to the first 3 songs.Number 5) MEAN TO ME starts out with Billy Sheehan shredding the bass as only he can,another fast paced ripper. That is made to be played LOUD! Number 6) Nothin' Bad ('bout feelin'good) is a groovy medium paced rhythmic tune. Number 7) FOREVER AND BACK,a sort of a power ballad.This one I can skip over,its kind of a chick song. Number 8) SHE'S ALL COMING BACK TO ME NOW is a nice song,mid paced song about a former girlfriend that the dude just ain't every gonna get quite over.
Number 9) 1992 is a heavy rockin' tune,about how the band was on top and then the grunge thing happened. Their record label took a giant crap on them,but their hardcore fans kept buying their music and in the end the band is greatful for that. That takes us to songs #10 & #11. Nothing at All and Be Kind. 10 is a rhythmic bass driven tune with melodic vocals and a groovy guitar solo. Number 11) BE KIND is a blues inspired song about being kind to your fellow man,then at the end of the song they go into a couple a minute jam session that well ,jams. So there you have it cats and kittens. Here we are 17yrs into the new mellenia and we get a new Mr.Big album. You gotta like that!
